What is Microblading?

Microblading is a tattooing technique in which you use a small handheld tool made up of tiny needles use to add pigment to the skin. Each hairstroke is created by hand, producing a thin natural looking line that blends with your exsisting eyebrow hair.

How long does it last?

This procedure is considered semi-permanent and will not wash off. However it will fade over time. Depending on skin type, pigment color chosen and other unpredictable factors, they could last 3 - 7 years. Most clients prefer and it is recommended to have a reboost every 12-14 months.

Is it painful?

Pain thresholds vary from person to person, and most clients may experience some discomfort We use an effective topical anesthetic cream prior to procedure to numb the area, and a gel anesthetic during the process. Keep in mind if your appointment is booked during your menstrual cycle you may be slightly sensitive. Please do not take Tylenol before hand, as Asprils and Niacin are blood thinners.

What can I expect during the healing process?

The area will begin to feel dry and chapped. You may notice some flaking as the dead skin cells and lymph begin to slough off. Many clients loose 20 to 50 percent of the initial color. The colour goes through phases, they will be dark as they scab and lighten as they flake off. Within 3-4 weeks the colour will reappear. DO NOT touch the area with dirty hands. DO NOT pick the scabs.

Why do I need a touch up?

Microblading is a 2 step process and it is important to follow-up with a touch-up appointment 6 weeks after the initial appointment. Frequency of touch-ups will depend on a number of factors. Pigment color choice (lighter colors fade faster) lifestyle (sun expsure), iron deficiency (your body absorbs the iron oxide in the pigment), Chemical peels, facials, skin care routine. Final results cannot be guaranteed as everyone is different.

Will my brows be perfectly symmetrical?

The structure of the human face is never perfectly symmetrical and muscle movements are often more dominant on one side of the face. For this reason "perfect" symmetry cannot be guaranteed. We will however do our BEST to acheive a natural, balanced symmetry for YOUR face. Each client will heal differently butmany factors can result in a less than desired outcome. In order for your brows to heal and look their best follow the aftercare instructions for best outcome.

How old do I have to be?

You must be 18 years of age or older to receive any services from Brow Studio Penticton.

Are their any risks?

As with any invasive procedure there are risks involved. These include undesired results in colour, allergic reaction, infection or scarring. All of these are extremely rare cases. Adhering to all safety guidelines having an impeccably clean and sterile work space. Using reputable brand of pigments and a technician who has been trained at a prestigious institution.
